How we shaped this space

custom bathroom remodel with bold finishes

The Before Stage

The bathroom still worked, but its dated finishes, flat color palette, and aging fixtures made it feel tired. Most elements simply needed to be replaced with modern, better-performing versions, and the homeowners also needed aging-in-place improvements to make the room comfortable long-term. From the start, the curved vanity wall was planned as the centerpiece of the remodel, with a bold crimson finish chosen to bring new character and warmth to the space.
bathroom design with a curved vanity wall

Design & Planning Stage

The new design included a freestanding tub, a curbless shower, and a built-in bench, supported by selections like Emser Contessa Dama shower wall tile, NOVALES Luna flooring, and Rosso Levanto penny tile accents. Custom cabinetry in Farrow and Ball Deep Reddish Brown paired with Calacatta Lore countertops and dual mirrors created a focal point, while Repose Gray walls and satin nickel finishes now balance the bold cabinetry and unify the whole palette.

Finished Project

The completed remodel feels calm, cohesive, and built for daily comfort. The freestanding tub and curbless shower bring a spa-level upgrade, while the combination of well-thought-out materials, colors, and finishes adds rich detail. The curved vanity wall now stands out beautifully, with its crimson cabinetry grounding the entire design. Updated lighting, ventilation, fixtures, and thoughtful finishing touches create a space that feels elevated, functional, and timeless.

Our reliable process

soft-toned bathroom design with modern details

The Before Stage

Before the remodel, this bathroom looked dated and felt closed in by an oversized tub and a layout that didn’t make good use of space. On top of that, the storage was limited, finishes were tired, the lighting felt uneven, and the shower lacked both comfort and functionality. The homeowners were clear about wanting a brighter, cleaner look and a layout that makes movement easy and supports daily routines better.
bathroom remodel with functional layout changes

Design & Planning Stage

Our plan was to address both the inefficient layout and refresh the dated design. First, we focused on changing this bathroom’s footprint to give the room a more functional flow. We reworked the footprint for better flow, removed an oversized tub, shifted the vanity to a much better placement, and added a new custom shower with a Delta double system for everyday comfort and practicality.

The updated palette pairs Calacatta Prado countertops with cabinetry in Sherwin-Williams Castlegate and walls in Gossamer Veil. Tile selections layer Calacatta Rustico accents with glossy Sterlina Ivory walls and MSI mosaic flooring, all chosen to keep the space light, soft, and welcoming. The homeowners are thrilled with their streamlined layout, improved functionality, and a personalized design that finally feels like their own.

A Dream Realized

A Space Designed to Unwind

Project summary:

There are projects that feel extra meaningful, and this was definitely one of them. Our client came to us with a dream: a serene, light-filled retreat that embodied the timeless elegance of Studio McGee. Their bathroom, while not outdated, lacked the openness and inspiration they longed for. It felt small and far from what they envisioned—a place where they could truly unwind and recharge.

Project notes:

  • Replaced the jacuzzi with a spacious soaking tub
  • Designed and built a large shower with a built-in bench
  • Installed brand-new, custom vanities
  • Took out the linen closet to create a more open, seamless layout
  • Added more drawers

The steps we take in remodeling

Custom vanity in remodeled primary bathroom

The Before Stage

Before we started, the bathroom felt completely out of sync with our client’s lifestyle. The outdated jacuzzi took up too much space, making the room feel cramped and overwhelming. The vanities, while functional, lacked personality, with bulky cabinets and not enough practical storage. The linen closet added to the clutter, and the overall layout seemed to work against the natural flow of the room.
Bathroom renovation with improved lighting

Design & Planning Stage

Our approach centered around creating openness and sophistication. We replaced the dated jacuzzi with a soaking tub and made the walk-in shower with its built-in bench the highlight of the room. To elevate the space even further, our team incorporated fixtures with stunning brass finishes, large mirrors, and a soft, soothing color palette, ensuring every detail contributed to a sense of calm and elegance.

Finished Project

The transformation was breathtaking; we turned this bathroom into a light, airy, and luxurious space that feels bright and inviting. With natural light pouring in and a seamless flow, it’s become exactly what our client was looking for. It’s a space built to be enjoyed every day and for years to come, and we couldn’t be prouder of the results.

A Fresh Take on Classic Design

Sleek + Modern Bathroom Remodel

Project summary:

Our client envisioned a fresh, new look for their primary space, which included two closets, a bedroom, and a bathroom featuring a walk-in shower.

The outdated primary suite was ready for a stylish upgrade, and Ten Key Remodels was delighted to bring the homeowners’ vision to life. We selected luxurious, natural wood-colored tiles for the floors and paired them with elegant white marbled tiles and rich dark walnut cabinetry for a striking contrast. We also focused on enhancing storage with thoughtful touches like a convenient linen headknocker, a sleek medicine cabinet, and a handy drawer for hot tools. This remodel truly transformed the space into a modern and functional retreat.

How the project came together

Bathroom remodel featuring marble mosaic flooring

The Before Stage

While functional, this bathroom yearned for a modern upgrade. The absence of natural light and the dark color palette did a disservice to the space. Aside from the bathroom, this redesign project entailed the primary bedroom and two walk-in closets requiring the same modernization treatment.
Custom cabinet tower with linen storage

Design & Planning Stage

Our solution was to brighten the place up using natural and artificial light to the best of its capacities, as well as using bright materials. The renders of the design show a completely transformed space ready for the 21st century!

Finished Project

Our final project left the homeowners speechless. The transformation of the space from a dark and uninspired place to an oasis of tranquility and beauty was the aim, and we delivered. The updated suite now feels bright, modern, and effortless.

How we brought the vision to life

Widened entryway door for easier access

The Before Stage

The old layout was dominated by a large tub and dated tile surround that took up valuable space without adding much function. We cleared it all out, opening the room for a spacious walk-in shower with a built-in bench and sleek tile niches – simple upgrades that made the space instantly feel more open and usable.
Recessed mirrors with hidden storage added

Design & Planning Stage

We reconfigured the shower footprint to make space for a custom cabinet tower, with upper storage for essentials and pull-out hampers below for easy laundry access. The new vanity pairs beautifully with polished gold-framed recessed mirrors that conceal extra storage. To maintain a clean, modern look, we chose large-format tile and porcelain slabs, then added charming small-scale floor tile for a touch of European character.
Built-in shower bench for comfort and function

Finished Project

The result is a bathroom that feels polished and welcoming, with thoughtful details at every turn. It’s bright, organized, and has a touch of luxury, just what our clients were hoping for. The new layout and upgraded finishes create a space that feels like a true retreat, where every element of the reimagined bathroom looks intentional and refined.

What our remodeling process looks like

New ventilation fan in renovated bathroom

The Before Stage

The layout wasn’t bad; it worked. But the space just felt… empty. Like it was missing something from the beginning. The finishes were basic, the colors were flat, and there wasn’t much personality to speak of. The good news? The layout, toilet, and header were all in solid shape, so instead of starting over, we kept what made sense and focused the budget on high-impact upgrades that would really make a difference.
Warm bathroom remodel with gold accents

Design & Planning Stage

This phase was truly collaborative. The homeowner came prepared with plenty of inspiration, which gave us a great starting point. We explored richer, more grounded materials that added some real depth and warmth. The arched shower entry was a standout moment, totally driven by their vision. We also added built-in shower seating and a quiet, modern vent fan to keep everything fresh and looking good for the long haul.
Bathroom remodel with custom tile work

Finished Project

It’s hard to believe this is the same bathroom. The flat colors are gone, replaced with rich, earthy tones: wild green tiles, warm wood accents, and golden hardware that gives everything a touch of luxury. The freestanding tub with a sleek wall-mounted filler pulls your attention right when you walk in, and everything around it, from the new flooring to the mirrors and vanity, flows together.
Stylish + Refined Bathroom Remodel
After years of living with a bathroom that no longer matched their style or routines, these homeowners were ready for something more stylish and functional. The goal was a space that looks refined and modern, and feels genuinely comfortable to use every day.

Bathroom Remodel

Stylish + Refined Bathroom Remodel

Project summary:

This client came to us ready for a full transformation of their early 2000s-era primary bathroom and closet. Their cherished home was built in 2004, bought in 2009, and was now ready for a more refined, contemporary look. The homeowners wanted a fresh and modern space free of the warm beige tones and the Tuscan Rustic vibes of the past. Guided by their wish for a boost in both functionality and style, we expanded the shower, added some amazing new elements, and updated all cabinetry. Their spacious new bathroom has become an inviting space where elegance meets everyday comfort.

Project Notes:

  • Demolish the existing shower
  • Use the new space for a linen cabinet with a bench
  • Rebuild a bigger shower with no glass
  • Add large-format tiles in the shower
  • Install double vanities with closet access between them
  • Replace and customize all cabinetry
  • Set up new mirrors, sconces, and hardware
  • Refresh with updated trim and new tile flooring
  • Create a closet with custom shelving

Our process in steps

The Before Stage

This bathroom was a classic example of early 2000s design, complete with many style elements that have since fallen out of favor and features that no longer suited the client’s practical needs. The space was dominated by warm beige paint and wood tones that gave it a dated “Tuscan” vibe. The original shower was small, glass-enclosed, and hard to access. Even though this bathroom is pretty spacious, there was almost no practical storage or any seating areas in the original design. The homeowners longed for a bathroom whose design is much more contemporary and that provided the functionality they needed.

Design & Planning Stage

To make this new bathroom, we meticulously selected each element to achieve an airy layout and a cohesive design. We created a sleek base with the new Contessa Dama floor tiles, chose Sherwin-Williams Passive for the walls to make the ambiance soothing, and paired it with Sherwin-Williams Storm Cloud on the cabinets to add a refined contrast. We removed the old shower and made space for a new, bigger one, to which we then added even more elegance and depth with the Bianco Thassos floor and Sterlina Grey accent wall tiles. The new linen cabinet and a seating bench provided much-needed storage and a comfortable place to sit.

The Finished Project

The finished bathroom and adjoining custom closet beautifully combine function and style. The spacious, glass-free shower now feels open and accessible and can offer our clients a spa-like experience right at home. A custom closet setup and a new linen cabinet with a built-in bench provide much more storage and a cozy seating area that makes daily routines much more enjoyable. The updated color palette is much more balanced than the original one, and the sleek hardware adds a touch of luxury. Our clients loved how we captured their vision of a modern but comfortable space they’ll enjoy for years to come!

Every detail was carefully selected to contribute to the serene and sophisticated theme we aimed for. The decision to install a curbless shower not only updated the look but also improved accessibility and opened up the space. Built for How You Live

Dazzling and Accessible Primary Bathroom Remodel

Project summary:

Every now and then, we come across a very special project that impacts our team in a profound way. This bathroom remodel in northeast Edmond was just that. The family reached out for a full primary bathroom remodel after suffering from intense water damage from a pipe leak. They wanted to focus on adding accessibility elements for a disabled family member and aging relatives and create a bathroom space that could fit a multitude of needs while still maintaining a modern and upscale feel. To take this project to the next level for the homeowners, we built a wet room with double shower heads, a bench, and a freestanding tub. Above the wet room bench, we inserted a built-in niche with matte marble-look tile placed in a herringbone pattern. We doubled their vanity space and installed double sinks and mirrors with storage cabinets. In keeping with the traditional design elements of the rest of the house, we went with gorgeous stained wood cabinetry. Removing the door and widening the doorway of the toilet room made it walker-accessible, and the heated floors added a luxurious element to a bathroom that will be enjoyed for so many years. With safety and accessibility in mind, we installed grab bars in the toilet room and wet room. This bathroom is now a stunning and safe space for our clients and their family!

Project notes:

  • ADA bathroom-wheelchair friendly
  • Zero entry/curbless shower entry
  • Floor-to-ceiling shower glass with a double glass door

How the magic happens

Double glass shower door installation

The Before Stage

A severe pipe leak left this primary bathroom in need of a complete rebuild. Beyond repairing the damage, the family needed a safer, more adaptable space that could support mobility needs and future use. Our initial focus was on identifying accessibility challenges, layout limitations, and opportunities to create a bathroom that could serve everyone comfortably.
Walk-in shower with bench seating

Design & Planning Stage

The new plan centered on accessibility without compromising on a refined look. We designed a curbless wet room with double shower heads, installed heated floors, widened the toilet room entry, and selected custom-stained cabinetry to reflect the home’s traditional style. Through detailed planning and visual layouts, the homeowners could clearly see how function and design would work together.
Bathroom remodel with upgraded fixtures
