The layout stayed the same, but nearly every element was refreshed, from custom cabinetry and new tile to carefully chosen fixtures and finishes. The space’s design is also far more stylish, with a palette shaped by soft neutral tones and a beautifully contrasting crimson for vanity and details.

The Before Stage

The bathroom still worked, but its dated finishes, flat color palette, and aging fixtures made it feel tired. Most elements simply needed to be replaced with modern, better-performing versions, and the homeowners also needed aging-in-place improvements to make the room comfortable long-term. From the start, the curved vanity wall was planned as the centerpiece of the remodel, with a bold crimson finish chosen to bring new character and warmth to the space.

The new design included a freestanding tub, a curbless shower, and a built-in bench, supported by selections like Emser Contessa Dama shower wall tile, NOVALES Luna flooring, and Rosso Levanto penny tile accents. Custom cabinetry in Farrow and Ball Deep Reddish Brown paired with Calacatta Lore countertops and dual mirrors created a focal point, while Repose Gray walls and satin nickel finishes now balance the bold cabinetry and unify the whole palette.

We reworked the footprint for better flow, removed an oversized tub, shifted the vanity to a much better placement, and added a new custom shower with a Delta double system for everyday comfort and practicality.

Their cherished home was built in 2004, bought in 2009, and was now ready for a more refined, contemporary look. The homeowners wanted a fresh and modern space free of the warm beige tones and the Tuscan Rustic vibes of the past. Guided by their wish for a boost in both functionality and style, we expanded the shower, added some amazing new elements, and updated all cabinetry. Their spacious new bathroom has become an inviting space where elegance meets everyday comfort.

Our process in steps

The Before Stage

This bathroom was a classic example of early 2000s design, complete with many style elements that have since fallen out of favor and features that no longer suited the client’s practical needs. The space was dominated by warm beige paint and wood tones that gave it a dated “Tuscan” vibe. The original shower was small, glass-enclosed, and hard to access. Even though this bathroom is pretty spacious, there was almost no practical storage or any seating areas in the original design. The homeowners longed for a bathroom whose design is much more contemporary and that provided the functionality they needed.

Design & Planning Stage

To make this new bathroom, we meticulously selected each element to achieve an airy layout and a cohesive design. We created a sleek base with the new Contessa Dama floor tiles, chose Sherwin-Williams Passive for the walls to make the ambiance soothing, and paired it with Sherwin-Williams Storm Cloud on the cabinets to add a refined contrast. We removed the old shower and made space for a new, bigger one, to which we then added even more elegance and depth with the Bianco Thassos floor and Sterlina Grey accent wall tiles. The new linen cabinet and a seating bench provided much-needed storage and a comfortable place to sit.

The Finished Project

The finished bathroom and adjoining custom closet beautifully combine function and style. The spacious, glass-free shower now feels open and accessible and can offer our clients a spa-like experience right at home. A custom closet setup and a new linen cabinet with a built-in bench provide much more storage and a cozy seating area that makes daily routines much more enjoyable. The updated color palette is much more balanced than the original one, and the sleek hardware adds a touch of luxury. Our clients loved how we captured their vision of a modern but comfortable space they’ll enjoy for years to come!

Dazzling and Accessible Primary Bathroom Remodel

Project summary:

Every now and then, we come across a very special project that impacts our team in a profound way. This bathroom remodel in northeast Edmond was just that. The family reached out for a full primary bathroom remodel after suffering from intense water damage from a pipe leak. They wanted to focus on adding accessibility elements for a disabled family member and aging relatives and create a bathroom space that could fit a multitude of needs while still maintaining a modern and upscale feel. To take this project to the next level for the homeowners, we built a wet room with double shower heads, a bench, and a freestanding tub. Above the wet room bench, we inserted a built-in niche with matte marble-look tile placed in a herringbone pattern. We doubled their vanity space and installed double sinks and mirrors with storage cabinets. In keeping with the traditional design elements of the rest of the house, we went with gorgeous stained wood cabinetry. Removing the door and widening the doorway of the toilet room made it walker-accessible, and the heated floors added a luxurious element to a bathroom that will be enjoyed for so many years. With safety and accessibility in mind, we installed grab bars in the toilet room and wet room. This bathroom is now a stunning and safe space for our clients and their family!

The homeowners also wanted to convert their previous shower and toilet room into a large walk-in closet. We also modernized the bedroom fireplace by adding a mantle and echoing the tile from the new bathroom floor, creating a cohesive transition between rooms. We completed this project with custom-built cabinets finished in a Sherman Williams Evergreen Fog color to accentuate the gold hardware and white quartz countertops.
