Crafted for Connection

Classic Comfort Kitchen Remodel

Project summary:

Before any walls came down, we sat down together. The homeowners had a clear sense of what they didn’t want, and an even clearer vision of what they did. They were drawn to timeless details, warm wood tones, and a kitchen that felt refined without feeling formal. Function mattered just as much as beauty. We talked through how the space currently operated and where it fell short. The separation between rooms felt limiting, and the kitchen didn’t reflect the character they wanted for their home. Together, we explored how to open things up, add meaningful architectural detail, and create a space that belonged. Once the vision was aligned, the direction became undeniable.

Building the vision, brick by brick

Kitchen remodel plan focusing on island spacing and appliance layout

The Before Stage

This remodel began with a straightforward but impactful goal: combine three separate spaces into one large kitchen and dining room. The homeowners wanted a timeless, traditional design centered around warmth, durability, and function. During our early discussions, they highlighted raised panel cabinetry, wood tones, and ceiling-height cabinets as must-haves. Glass uppers for dish display, black hardware for contrast, and a layout that felt open and practical shaped the foundation of every design decision.
Kitchen design featuring long island, seating, and quartz backsplash

Design & Planning Stage

With the direction established, we focused on defining the layout and selecting materials that aligned with the vision. Cabinetry was designed to extend fully to the ceiling to enhance storage and presence. A drink station with its own sink and beverage fridge was incorporated, along with all new appliances while keeping the double oven. Material selections reinforced the traditional aesthetic. Sherwin Williams Drift of Mist was chosen for the painted cabinets, paired with Minwax 273 Espresso stain for contrast and depth.
Finished Jones Kitchen remodel with two-tone cabinetry and large island

Finished Project

Construction centered on opening the three rooms into one cohesive kitchen and dining space. Once the structure was unified, installation of cabinetry, flooring, appliances, and finishes followed the established plan. The Artmore Tile Spencer Champagne marble-look mosaic backsplash introduced subtle texture, while grout-free countertop backsplash sections were used behind the oven and sink. Sterlina Polished 12×24 Silver tile from Emser completed the flooring, grounding the space in a clean, classic finish that reflects the original vision.

Some kitchens look fine until you try to use them every day. This one needed better circulation, more usable prep space, and a layout that didn’t force the room to work around an awkward bar. Once we opened it up and rebuilt the plan, everything started to make sense.

Modern Comfort, Classic Choices

Jones Kitchen Remodel

Project summary:

The original layout had the usual suspects: an oversized bar, chopped-up circulation, and not enough intentional storage. So we reworked the plan from the ground up, opening the wall toward the formal dining room and replacing the bar with a true center island built for prep, gathering, and seating at the end. Appliance placement was streamlined by repositioning the refrigerator and relocating the oven and microwave setup to keep the kitchen running smoothly. We added the practical touches homeowners actually feel every day, like a pull-out trash cabinet, under-cabinet lighting, and toe-kick lighting. Quartz carries up the wall as the backsplash, and quartz window sills sharpen the surrounding spaces. Finished with stained lowers and matte black accents, the kitchen now feels cohesive, modern, and effortless.

Project notes

  • Knocked down wall to formal dining for improved flow
  • Removed L-shaped bar and introduced 10-foot island
  • Maintained 42 inches of circulation space around island
  • Installed dual fuel gas range with attic-vented hood insert
  • Relocated refrigerator and reorganized oven/microwave cabinet layout
  • Added pull-out trash opposite dishwasher
  • Kohler Strive 35-1/2 inch farmhouse double basin sink
  • Quartz countertops with waterfall edge and matching backsplash
  • Sherwin Williams Dover White cabinetry with carbon-stained lowers
  • Matte black Miseno cabinet hardware and matching faucet
  • Emser Pocono Oak 6 x 35 tile flooring
  • Under-cabinet and toe kick lighting
  • Quartz window sills in dinette and family room
  • Added wafer lighting in family room tray ceiling

How we brought it together

Kitchen remodel plan focusing on island spacing and appliance layout

The Before Stage

The kitchen had plenty of square footage, but the layout made it feel tighter than it should. The L-shaped bar pushed traffic into narrow lanes, and the wall near the toaster station kept the kitchen from connecting cleanly to the formal dining room. The island and walk paths competed with each other, which made cooking with more than one person feel crowded. The goal for this stage was to identify what was creating friction and map a plan that would open circulation, add storage, and make the kitchen feel more intentional.
Kitchen design featuring long island, seating, and quartz backsplash

Design & Planning Stage

This plan focused on flow first, then built the finishes around it. We removed the L-shaped bar, opened the dining connection by knocking down the wall, and designed a new 10-foot-4-inch island with end seating while protecting at least 42 inches of clearance around it. The appliance layout was reworked to create a more logical sequence: the refrigerator moved to the former in-cabinet oven location and the ovens and microwave shifted to the old refrigerator zone. We also planned the dual fuel range upgrade with proper attic ducting, matched quartz from counters to backsplash, and layered lighting with under cabinet and toe kick illumination.
Finished Jones Kitchen remodel with two-tone cabinetry and large island

Finished Project

Once the structural changes were complete, the space came together quickly. Cabinetry defined the new layout, the 10-foot island anchored the room, and the waterfall quartz edge made the veining a true focal point. The dual fuel range and attic-vented hood were installed for performance and clean sightlines. The Kohler Strive farmhouse sink and matte black faucet brought balance to the island, while under-cabinet and toe kick lighting added subtle depth. With trim details matched, quartz window sills installed, and lighting layered throughout, the kitchen now feels open, cohesive, and built with intention from every angle.

This home had been left untouched for years, and the kitchen was paying the price. Between water damage and a failing tile floor, it was time for a reset. We rebuilt the space around what matters most to this family: heritage style, smarter storage, and a kitchen that finally works as hard as they do.

Rooted in Tradition

Heritage Heirloom Kitchen

Project summary:

This kitchen started out stuck in time, and not in a charming way. Water damage, shifting tiles, and limited storage made the space frustrating to use day to day. The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt connected to their heritage, something with rustic farmhouse character, Mexican-inspired color, and the kind of warmth you actually want to gather around. So we rebuilt the foundation of the room, then layered in function: more pantry space, a larger island, dedicated coffee and wine zones, and smart pullouts that make the whole kitchen feel calmer. The final touch was honoring what already mattered, including repurposing a family heirloom baker’s rack so it still has a place in the story.

The steps behind this project

water-damaged kitchen before remodel with cracked floor tile

The Before Stage

This kitchen had a few real problem spots that couldn’t be ignored: water damage, floor tiles that were cracking and moving, and a setup that made storage feel like a constant battle. There wasn’t a great place for pantry items, dishes, or the everyday essentials that tend to pile up on counters. On top of that, the laundry area and the kids’ bath were due for a rethink too, with low ceilings and layouts that didn’t make the best use of the space. The goal was simple: keep the home’s heritage feel, but make these rooms work a whole lot harder.
finished kitchen remodel with Acacia Haze cabinets and gold hardware

Design & Planning Stage

The homeowners wanted to honor their family’s heritage with a rustic, farmhouse-inspired kitchen, so we worked hard to blend timeless charm with modern function. We kept the idea of open shelving and space for a dish display while adding plenty of functional storage, including pullouts for spices and trash. The island would become the heart of the kitchen, offering seating and deep drawers for storage. We also made sure to keep the kitchen’s flow seamless with the dining and laundry areas. In the bathroom and laundry room, maximizing storage was key, so we designed with both beauty and practicality in mind.

Finished Project

The kitchen was transformed into a rustic, yet modern space with the perfect balance of charm and function. The large island now anchors the kitchen, offering plenty of seating and storage, and the natural-stained cabinetry blends beautifully with the warm-toned countertops and backsplash. The addition of a wine bar and coffee station made the space perfect for hosting. The laundry room was also revamped to be more functional, with new countertops and more storage. Throughout the home, we added thoughtful design details, like a reworked powder bathroom and new lighting, to enhance every room’s usability without compromising the home’s cozy, family-oriented feel.

Our remodeling process

finished kitchen remodel with personalized design choices

The Before Stage

The original kitchen and dining room felt disconnected and lacked the functionality and the refined style the homeowners wanted. The cabinetry was noticeably dated, the storage was limited, and the overall aesthetics – though not completely without appeal – didn’t have any cohesion, distinct features, or particular charm. The shortage of electrical outlets and inefficient lighting limited the space’s potential even more. Although our clients already loved the architectural details and general allure of their beloved home, they felt like their kitchen and dining area needed a thoughtful update to better suit their lifestyle and tastes.
transitional kitchen update suited to daily routines

Design & Planning Stage

We meticulously planned every detail to achieve the desired blend of old and new. This included custom shaker cabinets painted a deep Rock Bottom shade by Sherwin-Williams with sleek new hardware from Amerock Bar Pulls in Golden Champagne. We installed open shelving stained with a warm, rustic Minwax Jacobean and MSI Surfaces countertops in Soapstone Mist with polished square edges for functionality and elegance. To retain the character of the space, we kept the original crown molding and trim, but also personalized it with unique design elements and gave it a boost in functionality with improved lighting and a new electrical outlet layout.

Finished Project

Our efforts to find the perfect balance between the classic and the modern worked, and the completed kitchen and dining space now provides functionality the homeowners desperately needed. Distinct elements like the backsplash of Picket Polished Ceramic Tile from Tile Bar in Kent White give the area a fresh, modern touch, while the new Globe Electric Malay chandelier and the Coordonne’s Pradera Curry wallpaper in the buffet area add a bold pop of color to the design. The homeowners are delighted with the transformation and are enjoying their increased storage, improved function, and personalized design that make this kitchen truly their own.

Step-by-step of what we’ve done

kitchen remodel with focus on function and flow

The Before Stage

Think: 1950’s charm minus the charm. The cabinets were outdated, the finishes had seen better decades, and the bulky desk was basically a catch-all for clutter. The layout worked, but the space had no personality or warmth, just begging for a full refresh. So we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
finished kitchen remodel with timeless appeal

Design & Planning Stage

New floors for a fresh foundation, layered lighting to brighten every corner, sleek countertops for a modern touch, and a large stainless steel sink for function and style. The desk? Gone. In its place, a wet bar with a wine fridge, floating shelves, and a moody green backsplash that turned a dead zone into the heart of the party.
kitchen renovation with thoughtful proportions

The Finished Project

The transformation is pure magic. Rich wood drawers, soft-toned cabinetry, brass hardware, and that statement tile bring all the cozy-meets-cool vibes. It’s functional, beautiful, and totally “them.” And because they’re natural hosts, the first thing they did was invite friends over to toast their brand-new kitchen.
Quiet Luxury Kitchen Remodel
The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt neat and easy to use. With a busy household and hectic mornings, their old setup just wasn’t keeping up. They weren’t after anything flashy, just a space that was more functional, better organized, and felt good to be in every day.

Kitchen Remodel

Quiet Luxury Kitchen Remodel

Project summary:

Our clients came to us wanting a kitchen remodel that would make their daily life easier. Making a design statement was not the primary goal, but we still achieved something elegant and polished. We focused on improving the flow, adding smarter storage, and tweaking the layout in small but meaningful ways that remove those everyday frustrations. The updated cabinetry and finishes bring a sense of calm and order without feeling too formal or fussy. The result is a kitchen that quietly supports busy mornings and family dinners, and proves that sometimes the best changes are the ones you feel more than see.

Project notes:

  • Gutting and redo
  • Keep all plumbing in place except moving the fridge
  • Adding pocket door to the laundry room
  • No new flooring
  • Inset lower and upper cabinets
  • Replace built in desk area with tall cabinets
  • Large format tile above range top
  • Accessible beige for cabinet color

The steps behind the project

The Before Stage

The original kitchen had plenty of cabinets but not enough functionality. The fridge felt squeezed into the layout, and the desk area had turned into a clutter magnet rather than a workspace. While the bones were solid, with good floors and plenty of natural light, the layout wasn’t pulling its weight.

Design & Planning Stage

We focused on changing what would make the biggest difference. Moving the fridge opened up the main walkway, and replacing the desk with tall cabinets added practical storage. Inset cabinets in Accessible Beige kept the look classic, while the tile backsplash and pocket door for the laundry room added simple, functional upgrades.

The Finished Project

With the kitchen remodeling now complete, the finished space feels noticeably more open and easier to move through. Everything has a place now, so the space stays functional without the constant effort to keep it tidy. It’s visually calm and pulled together, something you notice as soon as you walk in.

Our process, step-by-step

kitchen design that supports natural flow

The Before Stage

The original kitchen had a cramped, segmented layout that limited movement and natural light. Outdated cabinets, a poorly placed fridge, and a wall separating the kitchen from the entryway made the space feel disconnected from the rest of the home. There was no cohesion, and the unfinished flooring made the whole space feel both incomplete and dated. We knew our main goal would be to open the space and make a more functional layout.
updated kitchen space focused on comfort

Design & Planning Stage

As the most dramatic step, we removed the wall in the entry/living area and widened the kitchen entrance for better flow. Cabinetry was fully replaced with soft-close units, mostly drawers for easier access, plus a tall pantry and functional inserts. Lighting was added throughout to brighten the space and balance the warmth of the sage cabinetry. The original beam was left exposed and intentionally worked into the final design for character and continuity.
kitchen remodeling for modern living needs

Finished Project

After we wrapped up the construction, the finished kitchen is truly everything the homeowners asked for. It’s bright and inviting, with a layout that feels effortless and storage that makes the most of every inch. The island serves as a central spot for cooking and gathering. What used to be a cluttered, disconnected space is now a streamlined, functional kitchen that feels intuitive, welcoming, and truly tailored to the homeowners’ lifestyle.
Warm Hearth Kitchen Remodel
We had the opportunity to completely reimagine this kitchen for a family who needed their space to function better and feel warmer. The top priority? Maximize countertop space for daily prep without compromising flow or charm.

Kitchen Remodel

Warm Hearth Kitchen Remodel

Project summary:

This full gut renovation focused on making the kitchen both beautiful and genuinely better to use. Closing an unused doorway opened up space for longer runs of custom cabinets and more counter area, while a new gas line powers a range that can actually keep up with how our clients want to cook. We carried the flooring in from the living room to tie everything together and took out the soffit to make the space feel more open, all while keeping the light fixtures they loved. Smart storage, including a dedicated coffee station, cabinetry, and extra laundry room cabinets now keeps daily essentials handy without creating clutter. Even removing one useless HVAC vent made the final layout cleaner and more efficient. It’s a kitchen designed around real life, elevated with quality materials and thoughtful touches throughout.

  • New gas line + gas range
  • Extended countertop space

  • Soffit removed
  • Coffee mug storage added
  • Original light fixtures kept
  • Drop-down sink light installed

Laundry room

  • New cabinet storage
  • Wallpaper
  • New cabinets for optimal storage

Here’s what we did, in steps

The Before Stage

Before our team stepped in, the room felt closed off and underutilized. An awkward doorway to the formal living room broke up the layout, storage was limited, and the counters left much to be desired for a family that spends real time together. The flooring didn’t match the rest of the home, and the old HVAC vent disrupted the look and didn’t deliver on function. It was clear this space had good bones, but it needed a complete reimagining. It was time to plan a remodel that would carefully balance added functionality and the warm, familiar design our clients wanted.

Design & Planning Stage

Our first major move was to close off the unused living room doorway to allow for a longer run of custom cabinetry and expanded counter space. To support the client’s love of cooking, we rerouted a new gas line for a high-performance gas range. Design-wise, we prioritized flow. Without soffits, the space feels airier and more open, while the warm-toned wood flooring from the living room now extends into the kitchen. Although we preserved the original light fixtures to keep the space familiar, we layered in a new drop-down light above the sink for added ambiance.

The Finished Project

The finished kitchen is both a visual and functional triumph. Custom cabinetry now offers generous storage, with thoughtful features like a coffee nook that keeps mugs accessible but off the counter. Now there’s a proper spot for the range, and the generous counter space makes prepping meals a lot easier and more enjoyable. In the adjacent laundry room, we added stylish, functional storage to carry the design language beyond the kitchen. And the troublesome HVAC vent? Gone. Replaced with matching flooring for a seamless, uninterrupted finish.
Modern Rustic Kitchen Remodel
What started as a dark, disconnected kitchen is now a space built for family. Aside from an updated look to make the space feel less closed in, clients wanted a room where cooking, gathering, and slow mornings naturally happen.

Kitchen Remodel

Modern Rustic Kitchen Remodel

Project summary:

When this family reached out, they were ready to start from scratch. Their kitchen and dining area just weren’t working anymore. It felt dark, cramped, and disconnected. What they really wanted was a space that brought everyone together. A place to cook, hang out, help the kids with homework, or just enjoy a slow morning in the breakfast nook. They also had a clear vibe in mind: something warm, inviting, with a cabin-like feel.

  • Cozy cabin-inspired style
  • New BOXWOOD 7×22 Wando flooring
  • Double islands for cooking and gathering

  • Ceiling-height cabinets for extra storage

  • Backsplash: White Jade 1×3″ herringbone marble from TileBar
  • Countertops: Calacatta Prado by Stratus Surfaces

Here’s what our process looked like

The Before Stage

When we first walked in, it was clear how much potential the space had, but also how far it was from where it needed to be. It was dark and dated, with beige cabinets, mismatched appliances, and a layout that just didn’t work. Everything felt a little crowded, like each element was competing for space. The flooring didn’t match anything else, and the whole room lacked natural light.

Design & Planning Stage

We spent time really listening to what this family needed and how they wanted the space to feel. Key to the plan was opening up the space and creating flow between the kitchen, dining, and breakfast areas. We brought in a palette of natural tones and textures, pairing it with warm wood floors and faux wooden beams to create that cozy, cabin-inspired feel they were after. The new appliances now blend in seamlessly, and with everything thoughtfully placed, the space just works. It’s comfortable, functional, and easy to be in.

The Finished Project

The room now has plenty of light, and it feels fresh and spacious, which makes it the center of the home. White cabinets go all the way to the ceiling, creating a bright, polished backdrop. We’ve added not one, but two kitchen islands – one for prep and cooking, and another where the kids can do homework or the family can gather around. This kitchen is now a space that supports the way they live and brings them together. That’s always the goal, and it’s why we love what we do.
Chic + Functional Kitchen Remodel
With natural wood cabinets and a dark color palette, this kitchen was visually heavy and made the space feel closed off and dated. The homeowner wanted a brighter, more modern kitchen that felt lighter, more inviting, and better suited to everyday use.

Kitchen Remodel

Chic + Functional Kitchen Remodel

Project summary:

This client needed a full kitchen gut to modernize the kitchen. She wanted to better utilize her butlers pantry and turn it into a coffee bar and an actual bar with lots of custom shelving.

Our designers used premier materials that blend together with our design. Flooring tiles chosen for this project were Visconde Silver 12×24 Matte, matching the backsplash tiles from Thassos Commercial Polished Marble Tile 3×9 by Floor and Decor.  The design also incorporated the Austen Undermount Farmhouse sink by Sinkology. Walls, ceiling, and upper cabinets were painted in Sherwin-Williams Snowbound, while lower cabinets provide luxurious contrast with a paint from Sherwin Williams In the Navy. To round out the new design, we also installed new appliances – a dishwasher and a stove to match the existing wine cooler and fridge.

Project Notes:

  • New appliances installed
  • New tile flooring
  • New cabinets
  • New backsplash
  • New quartz countertop
  • New paint
  • Swap lights

Our process in steps

The Before Stage

The homeowners were looking to get rid of the outdated natural wood look and dark kitchen design. The small tiles on the floor were also sorely in need of replacement, along with a range of other details.

Design & Planning Stage

We designed a brand new, functional and light kitchen with modern colors and sleek design. Combining the navy blue with white and stainless steel brings out the contemporary design and functionality of the space to the fore.

The Finished Project

With lots of natural light and bright colors, this kitchen came to life and is now a delightful space to spend time in, whether for meal preparation or just for leisure. This kitchen is ready for years of use and enjoyment.
