Light-Filled Sunroom Addition in Edmond, Oklahoma

From an outdated porch to a room worth living in

Light-Filled Sunroom Addition in Edmond, Oklahoma

A complete transformation of an aging enclosed porch into a curved, sun-drenched gathering space the Davis family can enjoy year-round. The project scope included complete room demolition, concrete demolition, and roof demolition to make way for the new addition. Built on their 3.38-acre Edmond property, this new sunroom addition brings in natural light, frames the surrounding landscape, and adds 235 square feet of enclosed living space.

Project summary:

The Davis family had a porch abounding with potential, but the existing structure needed more than restoration to become truly livable. At 167 square feet, it was covered and attached to the home, but it felt tired, poorly connected to the backyard views, and too small to function as real living space.

Ten Key designed and built a fully permitted sunroom addition that replaced the old porch and created a 402-square-foot finished room. The result is a curved, cathedral-style space with a turret-style roofline, black-frame windows on three sides, black outswing French doors, and warm terracotta tile that connects the interior to the land outside.

Project notes:

  • New concrete slab foundation

  • LP Smart Siding and trim on all new exterior walls

  • 7’8″ plate height with vaulted ceiling at the addition
  • New black outswing French doors

More Than a Remodel

The before stage

This project required more than a surface-level update. The existing porch had reached the end of its useful life, so our team approached it as a full rebuild from the ground up. Before we arrived on site, the Davis property had an enclosed porch totaling 167 square feet. It was functional in the loosest sense, meaning that it was already covered, attached to the house, and technically usable. But it was not comfortable, not well-lit, and not connected to the views that made this 3.38-acre Edmond lot worth building on in the first place.

Design & planning

Instead of patching and painting around a structure that no longer made sense, we developed a curved room with a turret-style roofline that could bring in natural light from three sides. Material selections were locked in early, including terracotta tile, black window frames, LP Smart Siding, Simply White walls, and Amber Slate trim, so every finish supported the same cohesive result. The goal was simple: a home that feels open, comfortable, and connected to its surroundings, suited for quiet mornings, family dinners and Oklahoma sunsets.

The finished project

What started as an underused enclosed porch became a 402-square-foot sunroom designed for real life. The curved walls and vaulted ceiling create a sense of volume that makes the room feel larger than its footprint suggests, while eight fixed windows frame the property outside. Four LED wafer lights and the client’s own chandelier give the room flexible lighting for any time of day. The finished sunroom gives the Davis family a comfortable, intentional room connected to both the home and the property around it.
